2. Purpose and scope of application
This legal notice governs access to, browsing and use of the website mizuu.pet and any subdomain under the same domain (api.mizuu.pet, etc.), as well as the future official mobile app. Use of the platform, whether as a visitor or as a registered user, confers the status of user and implies express and unreserved acceptance of the terms contained in this notice, in the Privacy Policy, in the Cookie Policy and, depending on the role and services used, in the corresponding specific terms.
3. Conditions of access
Access to the public site is free and open. Some features require prior registration and, where applicable, acceptance of additional specific terms. The minimum age to register is thirteen (13) years under the Data Protection Act 2018; those under this age may only use the platform with the express consent of the person holding parental responsibility or guardianship (see Minors policy).
4. User obligations
The user undertakes to:
- Make appropriate use of the content and services and not use them to carry out unlawful activities contrary to good faith or public order.
- Not disseminate content or propaganda of a racist, xenophobic or illegal-pornographic nature, glorifying terrorism or infringing human rights.
- Not cause damage to the physical and logical systems of Mizuu, its suppliers or third parties, nor introduce or spread computer viruses.
- Not impersonate another person or deliberately provide false information (fraudulent use of the "responsible party" field, of the ID, IBAN or phone number).
- Respect the intellectual and industrial property rights of Mizuu and third parties, including photos of pets uploaded by other users.
- Comply with the specific terms of the role they take on (adopter, verified shelter, vet, foster home, rescue volunteer).
5. Intellectual and industrial property
All content on the site (texts, graphics, logos, icons, source code, databases and designs), unless otherwise indicated, is owned by Mizuu or has been licensed for its use. All exploitation rights are reserved. The Mizuu trademark and its associated distinctive signs are registered or in the process of registration with the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and the EUIPO.
The photos and descriptions of pets are provided by the shelters or by the users themselves, who warrant that they hold the necessary rights for their publication and grant Mizuu a non-exclusive, free and worldwide licence to display them on the platform for the purpose described in these terms.
6. Third-party links and services
The platform relies on third-party services to operate. The relationship with each provider is governed by its own terms, which the user tacitly accepts when using the corresponding service:
- Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland) — payment gateway for the shop and future food subscriptions.
- Sendcloud Global B.V. (Netherlands) — management of physical shipments.
- Resend (Drift Labs Inc.) — delivery of transactional emails (verification, recovery, reminders).
- Google Firebase / Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications.
- Google Tag Manager + Google Analytics — anonymous analytics subject to cookie consent.
- Anthropic Inc. — analysis of veterinary record images using artificial intelligence, only when the user starts the scan manually.
- Bigbuy (when activated) — synchronisation of the food catalogue.
Outbound links to third-party sites are provided for informational purposes. Mizuu is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
7. Limitation of liability
Mizuu provides reasonable technical and human resources for the service to work correctly. However, it does not guarantee the uninterrupted availability of the site or the complete absence of errors. Mizuu is not responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for:
- Damage arising from interruptions, technical failures, viruses or disconnections of the operating system or the internet.
- The accuracy of information published by third parties (shelters, vets, other users) beyond the verification processes expressly described.
- Adoption decisions made by the shelters, which act under their own responsibility and applicable local regulations.
- Acts of volunteer third parties in the neighbourhood rescue module — the provisions of its specific terms apply.
8. Amendments to the legal notice
Mizuu reserves the right to modify the content of the legal notice at any time, both for legal reasons and due to the evolution of the service. The date and version are updated in the header. When the changes are substantial, the registered user will be notified by email at least fifteen (15) days in advance, and new acceptance will be required if the nature of the change requires it.
9. Applicable governing law and jurisdiction
The relationship between Mizuu and the user is governed by applicable UK legislation and the applicable European Union rules. For the resolution of any dispute, the parties submit to the courts of the consumer's domicile when the user is an end consumer, or to those of the domicile of the Mizuu operator in all other cases, provided that mandatory legislation allows it.
The consumer user may turn to an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider.
