Terms for veterinary practices

Applies to any practice with the vet role. In accordance with UK legislation on the veterinary profession and veterinary practices (RCVS).

Version 1.1 · Updated on October 14, 2026

1. Registration and verification

To register as a veterinary practice you must provide:

  • The practice's company registration number or VAT number.
  • Registration number in the veterinary practice register.
  • RCVS registration number of the responsible veterinary surgeon.
  • Physical address, contact details and bank details (IBAN or PayPal email — stored encrypted).

Usage is free until 28 February 2027. After that, it is billed monthly at £49/month + VAT.

2. Subscription and trial

There is a single plan: Mizuu Clínica — €49/month + VAT, all included (directory presence, online diary, medical records, wallet, collection point, access to inventory and direct sale of products to customers). There are no tiers or ranges.

The free period lasts until 28 February 2027. After that:

  • If the practice does not provide a payment method, it becomes inactive (it does not appear in the public directory).
  • Immediate cancellation with no penalty; days already paid are not refunded.

3. Directory ranking

This is how the public clinic directory is sorted:

  • No search: first clinics with a Mizuu plan (marked as “Featured”, because it is a position tied to a payment) and then the rest. Within each group, by the average of verified reviews.
  • With a search: by what best matches what was searched for and then by the average of reviews.

Mizuu reserves the right to adjust the algorithm and to deploy anti-fraud mechanisms to detect fake reviews (self-reviews, farms, etc.). Proven detection means removal of the reviews and possible suspension.

4. Wallet and withdrawals

Each clinic has an internal wallet that receives income from:

  • User payments for consultations or invoices processed through Mizuu.
  • Shelter payments or sponsorship compensation intended for vet treatments (where applicable).

Wallet transactions are atomic and traceable. The clinic can request withdrawals to its bank account or PayPal via the dashboard; the Mizuu team reviews and approves within an estimated 3-5 working days, unless flagged for review.

Stripe Connect integrator status: as of the update date, automatic payments to IBAN are pending completion of the Stripe Connect integration. Until then, withdrawals are processed manually by the Mizuu team.

5. Dual pricing

The service catalogue supports two price columns:

  • price_public — price for the general public.
  • price_shelter — reduced price applicable to animals in the custody of verified shelters or funded with a Mizuu balance.

The reduced price is voluntary for the practice. Mizuu recommends reasonable margins to keep the network sustainable. The price_shelter column is only visible to users with a shelter or admin role.

6. Health record

Each animal on the platform has a clinical history linked to its digital passport (not to the practice). The affiliated practice can:

  • Read the existing history when the passport is presented (via QR/NFC in a future app, or the WP-XXXXXX number).
  • Add new entries (vaccinations, visits, treatments) that are linked to the responsible practice.
  • Upload test results where applicable.

The clinical information added is the professional responsibility of the vet who signs it. Mizuu acts as a digital custodian and does not validate the clinical content, except for automatic cross-checks for post-adoption health indicators.

The data of your clients and patients that you store in Mizuu Clínica is yours: you are the data controller and Mizuu is your processor. The terms are in the data processing agreement, which you accept when you sign up the clinic and can download as a PDF.

7. Logistics collection point

Practices can act as a collection point for orders from the charity shop and, in future, for monthly food subscription shipments.

The process:

  1. The customer chooses the practice as the destination at payment.
  2. The practice receives the parcel and it appears as an order pending delivery in its dashboard.
  3. When the customer comes to collect it, the vet enters the 6-digit OTP that the customer will show them from their app.
  4. If it has not been collected within 30 days, the practice can return the parcel to Mizuu.

This service is voluntary. Mizuu may introduce a small collection-point fee in future (amount to be defined).

8. Contribution to the Solidarity Fund from the vet network

15% of the net profit Mizuu earns from monthly fees is reinvested periodically in active, verified shelters. The clinic accepts this model: by joining, it indirectly contributes to the shelters' financial sustainability. This reinvestment is not a discount on the fee nor a tax advantage — it remains a deductible business expense for the clinic.

9. Professional registration

The vet responsible for each practice must be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and keep their registration current. If they lose their registration, they must notify Mizuu, and the practice may be removed from the directory until the situation is resolved.

Clinical decisions are the sole responsibility of the professional. Mizuu does not intervene in diagnoses or treatments.

10. Leaving the service

The practice can leave at any time from the dashboard. Effects:

  • It stops appearing in the public directory and in search rankings.
  • The clinical history it has added to animals is kept — it is the patient's professional information.
  • The subscriptions of users who had the practice as a collection point are reassigned to home delivery or to another practice if the user chooses.
  • The wallet balance is settled to the registered bank account.
  • Fees already paid are not refunded; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.

If you find any discrepancy between this text and the applicable legislation, the latter prevails. The Mizuu legal team reviews the documents at least once a year and whenever there is a relevant regulatory change. For questions, write to legal@mizuu.pet.
